3D configurator and quoting for bathroom furniture
Objective
Make dealers autonomous in creating quotes, reduce the back-office work needed to validate the technical feasibility of requests and speed up onboarding for new dealers, agents and representatives.
The challenge
More than 8000 product codes across bases, columns, wall units, mirrors, tops and washbasins, more than 12 materials each available in numerous color variants, more than 20 special finishes or extra processes and complex matching logic that must account for physical compatibility between elements. In addition, each piece of furniture and several of the available mirrors can be produced in non-standard dimensions.
The solution
We developed a fully custom web-based 3D CPQ configurator for designing complete bathroom furniture layouts.
The project includes:
- Parametric rendering of furniture, mirrors and tops, allowing centimeter-level personalization of each product while following exact production constraints
- Interactive 3D scene with orbital controls, relative product positioning, optimized loading and caching
- Rule engine with physical compatibility calculation between products, especially between bases, tops and washbasins, and dynamic filtering of available choices after each configuration change
- History functionality and saving of the latest configuration
- Advanced automatic CPQ price calculation, with base prices, surcharges for customizations and accessories and support for internationalization: local VAT and multi-currency
- Discount input reserved for the dealer's end customer, with advanced discount logic such as 20%+10% and rounding
- Automatic PDF quote generation with a 3D image of the composition, list of selected products, extra processes and installation information
- Authentication system with dedicated dealer profiles and saving of dealer preferences
- Admin dashboard for catalog, prices, permissions and monitoring
- Multilingual support: Italian, English, German and French
