CPQ and 3D for roller shutter boxes and shutter systems
Objective
Make installers (B2B customers) autonomous in creating quotes, reducing pressure on the technical department and replacing a static calculation and compatibility system developed in Excel (60+ sheets)
The challenge
Translate company know-how into logic and develop compatibility and physical-resistance rules, such as motor capacity and material deflection point, inside an intuitive interface.
The solution
We developed an interactive 3D web configurator on a separate subdomain that inherits the authentication session from the existing reserved area, with:
- Guided CPQ flow to configure roller shutter boxes, roller shutters, rollers, guides, motors, controls and accessories.
- Centralized rule engine to manage compatibility, technical constraints and non-selectable states.
- Progressive validation of the configuration before generating the bill of materials.
- 3D visualization updated according to the installer's choices.
- Automatic generation of the technical bill of materials/BOM from the configuration.
- Item mapping to product codes, quantities, units of measure, cut dimensions and pieces.
- Integration with Microsoft Business Central API for prices, quotes and cart saving.
- Shared authenticated session with the existing B2B portal.
- Server-side management of sensitive calls to management systems and external APIs.
- PDF generation for commercial and document outputs.
- Modular architecture designed to extend new product families, rules, SKUs and commercial logic.
